Kids

This program provides services to families with children (zero to three years) who have a diagnosed disability or are at risk for developmental delays.  Risks include premature births, multiple births, genetic abnormalities, prenatal exposure to drugs or alcohol among others.

Depending on the needs of each child/family, TCH can provide Occupational, Speech and/or Physical Therapy as well as early childhood special education.  In order to participate in TCH K.i.D.S. services, children must meet specific qualifications as defined by the state of Arizona.  Go to www.AZDES.gov/AzEIP/ for state eligibility info .

All services are provided in the child’s natural environment (home, daycare, Community Park, etc) in order to enhance learning.  Kids learn best when they are comfortable, happy and surrounded by the people who are most important in their lives; parents, grandparents and other caregivers.  Additionally, the in-home therapies allow TCH staff to use the children’s’ own toys as tools in their growth.

Often overlooked, service to the family is just as integral as service to the child.  Parents and caregivers must understand their child’s capacity to learn and grow.  TCH creates a Home Program for each family to assist parents with training…how to use bath time, breakfast, play, and other activities as opportunities for therapy.  The family has the ultimate voice in making decisions for the child.  Goals are set at bi-annual meetings called Individual Family Service Plan (ISFP) Meetings.

The goal of TCH K.i.D.S is to assist the child to learn and grow to his or her fullest potential.  Parents, caregivers, siblings and others learn how their loved one can adapt and flourish as a family member and member of the community.  Our Foundation:  TCH professionals are there for the first sprint from the starting blocks, the family is there for the marathon.
